filtration media
AFM
AFM – Grade 0-4 (Please ask you supplier for an image and specifications)
AFM has an optimised uniformity coefficient to maximize filtration performance without causing pressure drops
AFM (grade 1) is a mechanical filtration media that will remove in excess of 97% of all particles in the water down to 5 micron with a bed depth of 1,200mm and flow velocity of 20m/hr.
AFM (Grade 0) will filter >97% of all particles in the water down to 1 micron, with no pre-coagulation or flocculation. At slower water flow rates and with the application of coagulation / flocculation, nominal filtration below 1 micron is a practical proposition with AFM, a performance previously only achieved by use of membranes.

Carbon Media
Active charcoal carbon filters are most effective at removing chlorine, Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg smell) and Organic material. Carbon is also well known as a final polishing material to improve the taste of water.

DMI65 – Iron removal
DMI-65 is a revolutionary Advanced Oxidation Catalytic Filtration Media designed for the removal of iron and manganese. DMI-65 Infusion Technology increases the micro-porous catalytic surface area, efficiently removing more dissolved iron and manganese to as low 0.001 ppm.
DMI65 can be regenerated with a low chlorine concentration to extend the life of the media for up to 5 years.
Important Note: Katlalox does not dissolve in the presence of Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg smell).

BIRM – Iron removal
Birm is a relatively light weight and economical media for the reduction of dissolved iron. Like most iron removal medias, Birm acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen and the iron compounds to form ferric hydroxide which is then removed through mechanical filtration in the media bed.
Important Note: Birm will disolve when Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg smell) is present in the water. It is not suggested to use this media in these instances .

KATALOX- Iron removal
Like most iron removal medias, Katalox Light acts as an insoluble catalyst to enhance the reaction between dissolved oxygen and the iron compounds for form ferric hydroxide which is then removed through mechanical filtration in the media bed.
As a catalyst, Kylanox Light is not consumed in the in the iron removal process and it dows not need to be regenerated.
Important Note: Katlalox does not dissolve in the presence of Hydrogen Sulfide (rotten egg smell).

Turbidity Removal Media
Turbidity Removal Water Filter Systems are designed to address water cloudiness and suspended solids, along with other sediment. Turbidity (haze or water cloudiness) is caused by presence of suspended solids that interfere with water clarity. They can include clay, silt, finely divided organic or inorganic matter, soluble colored organic compounds, and biological microorganisms. Turbidity particles can be as small as 2 micron in size.

Cation Resin (Softening resin)
Ion-exchange resins are widely used in different separation, purification, and decontamination processes. The most common examples are water softening and water purification

Aquastab
Most ground and surface water is mildly corrosive and metal and or concrete. Rainwater is also soft and therefore corrosive.
Mineral deficient water will naturally absorb minerals when in contact with limestone Aquastab is recommended for treating water with relatively low iron and manganese content and >6 pH.
Calcite is a harder form of calcium carbonate which dissolves less readily than limestone. Alternative products and methods of stabilisation should be used for mere aggressive waters.
Iron rich waters should first be treated through and iron removal filter.

Calcite
Upon contact with Calcite, acidic waters slowly dissolve the calcium carbonate to raise the pH which reduces the potential leaching of copper, lead and other metals found in typical plumbing systems. Periodic back washing will prevent packing, reclassify the bed and maintain high service rates.

Siliphos
The Siliphos media is used in Water Treatment to reduce scale build up in water pipes and corrosion caused.
By using the Siliphos Water Treatment system in your main water supply, it will slow down and stop corrosion by forming a thin protective layer over metallic surfaces.
